This workshop presents an overview of many aspects of child abuse including the prevalence of abuse in South Florida and the USA, symptoms of abuse, warning signs of adult abusers, thought processes of victims, and mandatory reporting laws.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• Explain the prevalence of child abuse, and the layers of problems associated with it
• Identify symptoms and behaviors of abused children and perpetrators
• Explain mandatory reporting laws and work with families when reports must be made
